In den Medien kursiert immer wieder der Begriff “Big Data”, häufig wird er im Kontext von Überwachung verwendet. Was dahinter steht, wer es nutzt und was man damit machen kann, soll Inhalt des Vortrages “Big Data und die radikale Linke” sein. Dabei soll sowohl der Begriff und die Verwendung anhand einiger Beispiele beleuchtet werden als auch gezeigt werden, was man mit “Big Data” und PEGIDA so alles machen kann.

WTF is Big Data?
In the media we can often read about this unclear term “big data”, usually connected with supervision and control. This lecture/talk will give an overview about background, impact and profits of “big data”. We’ll focus on the definition as well as on some exemplary ways to use it. Finally we’ll see what we get, if we merge PEGIDA and big data.
